Beyond Diels-Alder: Domino reactions in furan-maleimide click networks

چکیده
The furan-maleimide Diels-Alder chemistry has emerged as an important tool to design thermo-reversible click networks. This not only preserves the strong and robust properties of thermo-sets rubbers, but also makes it possible cleave crosslinks at non-degradative temperatures, or in other words recycle them. In this work a new reaction is reported networks, which Double-Diels-Alder (DDA), known domino Diels-Alder. forms extra linkages between adducts non-reacted furan groups evidently leads stronger materials, prevents efficient thermal (re)cycling. shows with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) characterization, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) rheology that DDA can occur both intramolecular intermolecular fashion, exhibits reversibility just like regular reaction. be easily overlooked creating what first sight might inexplicable reactivity when analyzing

Thermally cleavable surfactants based on furan-maleimide Diels-Alder adducts.
Two new surfactant molecules are reported that contain thermally labile Diels-Alder adducts connecting the hydrophilic and hydrophobic sections of each molecule. The two surfactants possess identical hydrophobic dodecyl tail segments but have phenol and carboxylic acid hydrophilic headgroups, respectively. Deprotonation with potassium hydroxide affords the formation of water-soluble surfactants...
متن کاملThe Application of the Diels-Alder Reaction to Polymer Syntheses Based on Furan/Maleimide Reversible Couplings
The furan heterocycle is a dienic reagent particularly suitable for the Diels-Alder reaction and maleimides represent a typical family of complementary reagents because of their strong dienophilic character. This paper reviews critically the studies devoted to the exploitation of the Diels Alder reaction between those moieties to synthesise macromolecular materials possessing different structur...
متن کاملDiels–Alder reactions in water*
This review illustrates how water, as an environmentally friendly solvent, can have significant additional benefits when it is used as a solvent for the Diels–Alder reaction. The mechanism by which the unique properties of water enhance the rate and selectivity are discussed. Also, possibilities for the achievement of further increases in rate and enantioselectivity of aqueous Diels–Alder react...

One of the most efficient methods (high yield, controlled stereochemistry, diverse functionality) to construct rings from smaller fragments is via cycloaddition reactions. The reverse reaction, namely splitting of a ring into smaller fragments is termed a cycloreversion reaction is also an important synthetic tool. (For example, in the present experiment it is the cracking of cyclopentadiene di...
متن کاملDiels-Alder reactions of quinone sulfoxides
The Diels-Alder reaction has often been used to construct polycyclic quinones from either benzoquinones or naphthoquinones.' This strategy has led to elegant syntheses of certain anthracyclines and also many other acetate-derived compounds. Several researchers, most notably Gesson and Brassard, have determined that the presence of a chlorine or bromine atom on the starting quinone framework per...
